I heart WOTD
Great angle of Kirra today.
Makes it look like a much easier wave than it is.
I love how you can see the state of the open side ocean on the other side of the Pt Danger headland complex.
Did you get up there for this swell, FR? Damn, it looked/looks good.
Excellant shot.
True urban-surf.
Superb timing by the photog to capture the line up with so few bods and not one jet ski in sight.
Not usually impressed with Nazare shots, but today's is a beauty.
Great shot - so much more impressive than any of the ski action at Nazare
I’m guessing by the colour of the water and shape of the wave …. Angourie ?
Another Luke Rosenzweig classic. Always producing the top shelf imagery. Powerful shot!!
Flouro 5'11" Pecker Hack
If the two surfers on the right weren’t in the frame you could almost think its a black and white photo
That is Stu's caption, but I had a secondary caption idea around port, starboard, stop, go etc but couldn't get it to work.
Parallel world with 3 goofers fighting over a left while the natural seeks out a sneaky right.
Today’s. There’s been reasonable waves there and surrounding points all week. Big shout out to the early morning seniors swimming group all laughter and fun. Love that area especially in autumn and after a good downpour when the air is full of the scent of salt and eucalyptus
Yes, nice photo. Presumably from the Vic surf coast but having such a sunny northern point vibe.
Well, in a photo, it does get a sunny northern point vibe, including the crowd, but without the wave quality or consistency.
That shot of Noosa takes me back my wave of the year… 9th April 2022.
Got a wave from Boiling Pot to the surf club during cyclone swell.
Hit & run mission to Sunny Coast to see the Oils farewell tour.
Was also my late mum’s birthday!
Happy New Year everyone
I love seeing the length of those lines and how they’re bending. Sick shot.
That was a cracking swell.
Good shot from Tim. The muted colours. The light thru the windblown spray. The photo angle that gives you some of that visceral surfer feeling.
Always a good day to be a geologist!
(Really! The earth gives you something to think about everywhere you look)
True Chris. A geologist, a botanist, a psychologist, a philosopher.
There’s always something of interest, if you’re interested.
Happy New Year WOTD

Todays WOTD from Tim is a cracker.
East coast bombie. Rare bird!

Thought it might be a certain harbour entrance/river mouth.
Looks like one of my fav waves in the world when it's on the pump. Dreamy!
Av a go at that would ya, could be mistaken for a Ledge up here.
Yesterdays a cracker, north island Shirley?

haha, I thought something similar, but you put it more eloquently than I could have.
Today's is very very tasty looking

Certain wave in WA? Looks unreal ..

Yeah if not a good imposter, used to surf it when bigger back in the days of my youth always got cleaned up but it never humiliated me like big Main Break often did.
I was guessing WA, but I'm totally unfamiliar with the waves there.
I’m guessing WA but I don’t recognise the wave from the trips I’ve done over there. Looks sick! Great shot.
Could the angle the photo was taken be designed to hide its true location? If that were the case perhaps it’s a very well known reef on the east coast? Maybe maybe not
Not East Coast.
Figured it out. On my list now.
Definitely WA... A gem amongst many....

The inside has its own name for its own reason !

Does that mean it's not frowned upon to sit outside and take the bigger ones, then kick out before the inside? :-)
A top 5 favourite spot for extremely large GWS drive by's
Ran as double page spread in oz mag mid 80s?
Looks like Yals on a rare good day, for sure.
For those wondering about the quote marks in today's caption:
Showing my age but I knew it straight away, great tune and great pic too!
Conjured feelings from that and the next line was a fine antidote to reading the B Hamilton comments yesterday.
From where I wish I was!!
The wave of the day does it for me big time. Nice work Steen Barnes , Shaun Anderson and Swellnet.
In one photo you've encompassed everything nice about surfing. If I was a wanker I'd say that it was perfect except for the fact he is in a wetsuit. Which it is , it's perfect .....except for the fact he's in a wetsuit.
