Firewire FST Complete Fin Cut

Where is the Fin cut..have you got a pic or 3
How long do you call an Extended period of time ?

I got a cut in a seaside , 2nd time out.

was fixed and has been going like a charm 2 years on.

They take on a lot of water but can be repaired. The foam will decay around the ingress point. Below is the result of a face plant on a day with huge backwash. The board was in a bag for a couple of months before I used it again. Took it out and saw this.

I doubt it would be ruined just remove any damaged glass and let it dry out in the sun or in a warm place for at least a few days.

I think how the EPS sucks water and how it can dry out depends on different things, if it's like Blackers above it might not dry out that easily as its hard for the water to escape, but if an open cut it should dry out much better.

I had a FW FST board i snapped in Indo and left it with local kids that use to play with it in the lagoon almost every afternoon, i got hold of it to check it out and it wasn't water logged or mushy as i expected, it was still light and buoyant and only some mould on the edge but foam still white, the balsa rail though different story that had sucked water back further and gone mushy and had mould running back a fair way.

I suggest put deck grip over damaged area once dry - worked a treat for my Tuflite to prevent further damage.

Had a Russian put all three thruster fins through the deck of a Firewire in Bali one year (pain in the nuts) dried out and repaired no worries still ride it occasionally no problems.
