It was the flippers that initially did it for me, followed by the back flip into crawl off stage left. Genius.

Link Wray inventer of the power cord.
His performances back then must have been amazing to those attending. What a load of noise.

Link Wray is fully sick.
I mean, who didn't he influence?
You listen to just 10 seconds of Link and you're hearing Neil Young, Iggy and The Stooges, Black Sabbath, The Cramps, The White Stripes...

Reckon one of, if not the most beautiful songs ever written. Robert Hunter was a true poet. Wrote Ripple and Brokedown Palace on the same day. Genius.
Love this live version and Playing for Change did a great job.

I’ve been getting into these guys and girl again
(there’s even one where flippers is on the keys. I’d say he’s going to be as good as his older siblings)

That was good hearing that again.

A timeless song appropriate for these times ……….There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
A-telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop
Children, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Are getting so much resistance from behind
Time we stop
Hey, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and a-carrying signs
Mostly say hooray for our side
It's time we stop
Hey, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
Step out of line, the man come and take you away
We better stop
Hey, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
We better stop
Hey, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
We better stop now
What's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
We better stop
Children, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down

There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Singing songs and a-carrying signs
Mostly say hooray for our side
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
Step out of line, the man come and take you away

Sydney Bands that influenced Goldie Social Cancer
Suicide Squad ( Re : Annie's Shoulder Perm & Outfit was accepted kit for Punk Chix)
These Chix baited their folks to backdoor Core Punx into a pre gig hang / sleepover...score!
SS + Rejex > Yes! Have these singles...mighta got Rejex while in Sydney!
https://www.reddit.com/r/vintageobscura/comments/1khsszw/rejex_niagara_b...
1981 Social Cancer Singer Green Hair / Drummer (tbb) Pink/Yellow hair got the train to Sydney
Sleep in Parks > Under the Bridge & eat Goop outta Hare Krishna Buckets from rows of long Tables.
See [0:05] punkz sniffing Amyl from Amber Med Bottles > Tweed Sex shops to Goldie Punkz '81.
Ended up at the Civic (No Band Posters!) was quiet as ya like then a few Punkz then a few more...
Band starts as ya are right there amongst the crowd & yer mashed in the mosh on the spot screaming.
Song / Clip is dedicated to the Civic "Pub" Not a Club! Ok. ( Hot Tip! ) Proper Pub Rock!
[2:08] Pause Zoom in & see how Old Balding Punters = Band = Girl Fans are as one "Civic" Community.
Flash Mob is respected...so ya get Old TAB Punters Counter Meal + 14y/o Girl Punx at same table
Goldie Miami Pub was the same...tbb's Old Work-Mates would hang to razz me Punk Band! Got it!
Punkz had to work their way into a patch or Corner same as Bikers...so if ya could gain a table...Yep!
Recall around 10 Years Back tbb was a groupie for V-Rays / Lipstick Killers' Drummer from the (Civic)
So either by Civic / sound or hanging around these Early Sydney Punk Bands got a spin on Goldie!
Goldie never adopted the overt Detroit Sydney Punk Sound that slowly crept north thru Lismore / Byron!
So like Goldie knew of Radio Birdman & saw the Tatts but cut the chord with any hint of Joh / Jock influence.
Very rare for any Northern Rivers Punkz to Spin their US Iggy / Stooges / Birdman onto Goldie Platters!
(Probably best to share rare awkward insightful local Back History on that!)
Northern Rivers Surf Rafters were lawless Cult Bards (vs) Empire Rafters bastardized class structure odes! (Mangled on Triangles). 1840s-70's Northern Rivers imported US Jamaican Rum Culture (vs) Germanic Sugar enslaved Albert Rivers Rum Rebellion. Goldie Punkz were weened on Bne / UK Politico Anarchist + Blank Gen but Ok with US Comic Snuff > Ramones/ Dickies/DK!...Pretentious US Detroit Guitar cock rock flooded into Qld via 1984 > Beer Swillin' Chick Hating Northern Rivers swampy Boof Jock Punk. Basically Yankee Right Wing Coastal Surfie Jocks of NSW Northern Rivers swamps > Albert > Pine Rivers to Gympie.
UK/ Euro Goldie Punkz are oldschool outcast Anarchist rebels that fight off US Jock conversion by Boof Swamp capitulation. Defiant 1970's US War Deserters bolstered Lismore / Goldie / Bne Anarchist stocks vs Jock Footy Boof Aukus Takeover

Goulish oldschool gizmo goth gurlz Daphne, Else & Delia give weekend witching hour a real fright...Gulp!

Alright, time for some discussion on what yr all listening too. My iTunes inventory is getting a little stale so I'm up for some inspiration.
Currently loving The Drones' album "Havilah".. incredible songwriting and some of the best recorded guitars and drum I've heard in a long time. I'm a little late to the party with this album but it's on high rotation at the moment and will probably stay there a while. I've seen these guys live once (Fowlers, Adelaide) and fortunately they're incredible on stage too. Can't wait to see them again.
