Unfuckingbelievable . We have seen how the CEOs of the biggest corporations praise the Don in order to get what they want . Journalists asking questions he doesn’t like get sin binned . Not only that but threats that Australians will pay a price for it .

Yep, but would argue it is very believable.

The USA unless there is some major push back soon is down the path of a fascist state.

Only way out it seems is for blue states to start playing hardball, start withholding federal taxes, leave the union, whatever it takes.
You cannot win by playing by the polite political rules and norms using traditional institutions when you are dealing with this kind of regime, as history clearly demonstrates.
Australian government take note!

Thanx crew : Anyone else got a feed on the Aussie ABC reporter John Lyons (vs) Trump in the Octogon

https://7news.com.au/news/donald-trump-blasts-australian-journalist-in-h...

ABC John : "You're Hurting Us Mr Prez!"

Trump : “In my opinion, you are hurting Australia very much right now, and they want to get along with me,” Trump said.

“You know, your leader is coming over to see me very soon.

“I’m going to tell him about you. You set a very bad tone.”

When the journalist attempted to ask the president another question, Trump cut him off, telling him “quiet”.

Mate, i watched the live senate hearing last night with Patel. No news filters, just as it unfolded. It was one of the most disturbing and disheartening things i've ever seen, and i'm convinced now, that America is truly fucked. To the point i wrote to a friend over there and said, if you need to get out, there's safe haven here as long as neccessary. It's going to get that bad, it already is that bad. The deflection from Patel and the way he was allowed to weasel out of answering any questions with truth and clarity, and continually blamed the other when put under the pump,...it was wild.

Trump has grifted his way from less than AUD $1 billion (with a billion in legal actions against him, so his fortune = $0) to over AUD $12 billion since Biden's presidency. All of it liquid, all of it growing. His stirring/scattering/signaling stoking his extended international cabal's fortunes..

how's the bizarre phenomenon of World Liberty Financial crypto.. (not that I understand any of it or follow it, had to look the name up, completely forgettable name..) - it's acting like War Bonds and a pyramid scheme combined, people investing in Trump's War, believing the dividend will be a brighter future with them on top. (This might be the greatest grift of all time in a couple of years.. and just like the end of any great heist film, the team of criminals will disappear in an explosion of smoke leaving nothing but carnage in their wake).

No amount of evidence or reason will ever persuade an idiot, or a fanatic. Burleigh is either, or both. He was utterly convinced (and still is) that Trump is going to make Amercia great again (and he still may, but only if you value (or are willing to totally ignore) things like racism, bigotry, lying, corruption, enriching the rich, double standards, inciting insurrection, unconsitutional use of power, etc). He was convinced that Trump was the only guy who would stop the wars, in fact in January he asked where all the Swellnet doubters were now that Trump had stopped 1 and had 1 to go. That one hasn't aged too well. And, from memory, he told us that the left were shaking in their boots about the Epstien files and how fun it would be when Trump released them. Empty vessels make the most noise.

We have one tree, there's a tree at the end of the block and bees are healthy around here. We're going to plant a couple more, the idea for the garden was a fruiting garden. I'd be a little mindful of the comparisons chosen at this point -
and the divisive rhetoric.. usa is such a sick swampy minefield
of politics defining every moment and event and tragedy.

can mental illness, cult of personality, generational poverty, hate speech, detachment from reality, social media silos, an impoverished health care system, get a look in? let alone responsible gun ownership.

.. seems super convenient for those wanting to control from the top if the prols and plebs want to make everything us-and-them political, neh?

I think for sure it's a political assassination.
Kirk was overtly political and totally partisan.
Like Malcolm X, MLK and Ghandi, you don't have to be voted into office to be assassinated for political reasons.

As for "can mental illness, cult of personality, generational poverty, hate speech, detachment from reality, social media silos, an impoverished health care system, get a look in", some of those were what I was talking about when I said I'd care if Jacinta Price was assassinated.

Been thinking about this as well Andy M, for sure this one is a political assassination. I've got the feeling it's on the scale of the people above too, hard to confirm as it's happening live and we don't have 50 years of history to understand the significance of what's going on right now.

No, my own words Burls, except part of my first sentence has been attributed to Mark Twain, but apparently falsely. I'm not perfect, and am often wrong. But I believe I can differentiate between opinion and fact, and I also try to bring nuance, and understanding of different points of view into my opinions, so I guess that leaves a greater margin for error than a fanatic's approach which is all-in.
