Care to offer an opinion on what you think BTC could go to in the next few years?

Craig wrote:Up to 10,000 now chook, I'd cash out, what a windfall!
Funny looking back on page 1 of this thread, November 2017.
I wonder if chook took Craig's advice, and cashed out his windfall at $10K.
And, I still don't get it.

[from MONDAY, 23 DEC 2024 at 12:59PM quote=Craig]Hope everyone cashed out.

So many times I have nearly cashed out and then hold on and usually buy more.
I bought more BTC a couple of weeks ago at us$99,520.
I still wouldn’t be surprised if the whole thing collapsed. Still happy to hang on for the ride.
I don’t get it either.

Still yet to see anywhere that you can pay in bitcoin?
Admit I havent been to Venezuela.

On a side note… some of the miners on the asx are starting to take off. Some really good opportunities incoming.

Ok Thermalben and others,no worries
I’ll leave you to it
Good luck

It's a speculative asset. It could go to the moon or to zero. I lived in El Salvador and it's the official currency there, at least officially. So I have used to to buy groceries, pay phone bills etc and I can tell you, it's never going to take off as a currency. The time it takes to verify transactions are way longer than visa, costs more(!) and it's complicated for the people that have to process it.
I first bought Bitcoin with it was $5 Australian per Bitcoin! I also mined it. I just spent it on drugs.
So given my long experience mining, using and experiencing you might be interested to know that I actually think the same as I did all the way back then. It's a novel thing with a niche use case. The fact that it's almost infinitely more valuable hasn't changed my mind.
I don't think it will go to zero though because too many rich people have too much capital invested in it.

i don’t speculate that far out. Too many outside factors to know in that time frame. But I am expecting to see $130-140k in the near term.
The Bitcoin graph looks Interesting ! ?
