@SR. Hi mate.

Despite your serious major injuries, you guys are looking ok. Let’s see if the Bombers can fly up, up and up. AW

Hey, I can see what you did here @AW, just quietly slipping in the royal your and you … he says eyes rolling back in their sockets

No worries @GS. I've already staked a claim on 'us'!
I'm Indo style fanatical. ;-) /All jokes aside Indos actually proving to be quite the fanatic!!
Must say, great thread @indo. Footy is a religion, the best religion and brings everyone together. Even if it's with a bit of jovial ribbing.

btw @GS, be worried. The media after writing us off week after week have finally decided to jump onboard. That worries me tremendously. We're a much better team when no one notices us!! Carn the mighty Bombers!!

Now can you stop that ^^ too.

To be clear, there’s a world of difference between fanatical fantasy or in @info’s case outright bullshit and fact!

Unless you’re a “paid” up member or regularly go to a game and line up to “buy “ a ticket you have no right to use any royals. You are not worthy. The tight arses of the world may use words like support, follow or barrack to describe their interest in the game!!

A very worthy football story.
I remember watching this guy as a kid, true champion in every sense of word.

Stephen Michael. It’s well worth checking out the AFL for his story.

I tried to copy and paste it but to no avail. AW

The Stephen Michael Story will bring a tear to your eyes, well, it did for me.
Do yourself a favour. AW

GuySmiley. Hi mate.
Thanks very much, you are a good fellow.

Underlying message in the doco, he always put his family first. There’s something in that for all of us.
He turned down big bucks in the east for ‘family’. All the best. AW

Hey @AW, yes indeed. Used to absolutely love watching WA football here in Vicco back in the days when they played 16 a side with no wingers, so much freer and suited to overhead marking! What a champ; don’t know about his claim of “mild” weather in the west though!

GuySmiley. Hi mate.

Totally agree. Kojunup is 2.5 hrs south from Perth, it’s definitely drier than Geelong but it’s no different in weather really, less rain for sure but it gets bloody windy and cold.
Having lived in Albany a long time ago and recently visited a couple of weeks ago, for a town that’s sits at about 35deg south of the equator compared to Geelong at about 38deg south, you’d think Albany would be warmer, it’s the cold West Australian current flowing west to east under the continent that dictates its climate.

Geelong has very mild weather all year round, the best Winter weather I think.
Mainly because it’s enveloped by Corio Bay next to town on one side, Bellarine Peninsula waters on another side and the waters towards Torquay are essentially heat sinks and this moderates Geelongs weather.

Stephen Michael when he visited Geelong caught it on a very cold wet day, he didn’t like what he saw. AW

@aw, I have family in the West and we have always found it stinking hot and/or windy, the last time we were there we had days up to 39 degrees in March FFS, the aircon was never off, I get Denmark, Busselton, Yallingup-Margs, can be cooler than Perth but does the Doctor blow anymore?

The Doctor still arrives, its many factors why Perth Summers are just on the bake.
Couple of Perth mates who were with us in Albany a couple of weeks ago exclaimed that Perth really only has about a 6 week Winter.

I could ramble on at length about the heat and its sources, but this is an AFL thread page. I might just keep it cool. But happy to pick it up on another thread. AW

Shit yeah AW. There's not a chance of living in WA and not hearing of this legends name spoken in reverence. Stephen Michael. From what i hear from many sources, he could be the best footy player ever (after Dangerfield of course!). Looks like a gun. Big, athletic and skilled. Cheers for the link @GS. Snowed under with hectic assignments at the moment. But defo gonna watch it when i get a bit more freedom.
Cheers!
btw, fwiw, in my lifetime, it was Andrew Mcleod, or should i say, the GREAT Andrew McLeod that i put at the top of the tree of all time indigenous players. I was thinking about this the other day, and i remember the first time i went to Summercloud and saw the local fullas there ripping the place up, 5-6foot. I remember how much their natural affinity and 6th sense stood out to me, something i'd never really seen in surfing before. Same thing with McLeod and all other aboriginal players. I dunno what it is, but they have it, and it's incredible to watch.
