Recap

Plenty of surf yesterday with OK winds for protected spots, easing into today with workable S/SE winds.

Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl

This weekend and next week (Dec 30 – Jan 5)

While the surf has eased back into this morning, we've got a good reinforcing S/SW groundswell due later today and tomorrow morning across the coast.

This has been generated by a strong front firing up to our south-west, with it currently continuing east, south of the Bight.

We should see the South West continuing around 4-5ft at swell magnets during the morning, with tiny 1-1.5ft sets in Mandurah, and 1ft+ waves up in Perth, easing through the day.

Conditions are looking much better with an E/SE breeze developing through the morning across the South West, and straighter E'ly winds further north before sea breezes kick in.

Winds are due to revert back to the SE on Sunday as the swell becomes small.

A good bump in swell should be seen Monday, generated by an OK looking polar front that's currently just north-east of Heard Island. A fetch of W/SW gales are being generated in our south-western swell window, with a pulse to 4-5ft+ expected Monday across the South West and 1-2ft in Mandurah, 1-1.5ft Perth.

Winds look as if they'll be OK and from the SE during the morning, with similar conditions and easing surf Tuesday, smaller Wednesday.

Longer there's still nothing major on the cards so make the most of tomorrow and Monday morning's waves. Have a great New Year!
