For those of you in Vicco who, like me, have been irritated by the lack of consistent wave buoy data coming from the Cape Sorell buoy lately, please see the response below from the BOM to my enquiry........
"Thank you for raising the issue with the Cape Sorell Wave Buoy. Our team are aware of the problem and the failing buoy should be swapped out with a replacement soon."
Love Swellnet for the forums and general shit talk. The reason I subscribe to surfline is that SW has no Philippines forecast. I have a 3-4 hr drive north, south or east for a few days of waves, depending what swell is on, and half the time get skunked. Could we have even a minimal forecast please? :) Surfline forecasts are predominantly garbage, always good surf 2 weeks out on their "16 day forecast" which the majority of the time never eventuates. How many times it's gone from 25' 'good' to the next day '2' poor' I do not know.
I've got next week off and was planning a surf trip to northern NSW, however wave wise it isn't looking too exciting. Based on current eater patterns, can you suggest anywhere within say eight to ten hours of Newcastle (driving or flying) other than Bali that would be good for a quick escape. Preferably waves in the 3 to 6 foot range. Cheers
I have a trip to Samoa (Salani surf resort 6 nights) and Fiji coming up from April 23 to May 4.
Can anyone share their experience of the accuracy of Swellnet South Pacific forecast modelling vs what the actual wave heights were at the time.
I am a subscriber so can get the 16day forecast. Be keen to know what boards to pack for the trip.
Cheers
Hi guys,
Just wondering if there would be a wave at Pondi SA on the 10/12 given the swell and direction, or if it will miss it. Any advice would be great
Who is doing the Sunshine Coast surf report? Do they actually look at the surf? So wrong all week snd today’s lumpy slop is reported as fun waves everywhere!! Why the spin???
We seem to get no tide information at all for over a year. ‘Narngulu separation plant information not available’ is what it says instead of tides. Have to check other sites, can you fix this?

I'm sensing it could be a while.
