A complex but disjointed low has formed in the Tasman with diffuse centres off the North Coast and Tasmania/Gippsland coast. We’ll see various S swells generated by proximate and distal fetches from this system over the weekend and into next week.
Make the most of tomorrow morning's surf ahead of mostly poor conditions next week apart from a couple of windows on the Surf Coast.
The current swell will ease tomorrow with windy conditions, poor Friday. Cleaner conditions but fading surf is due on the weekend, with a good swell for Wednesday next week.
A brief flush of E/SE winds in the Coral Sea Sun/Mon may supply some just rideable surf for CQ but expect marginal conditions.
That will see a S wind change and some, windy but sizey S swells through the end of the week into the weekend. Lingering troughiness in the Tasman may see yet another low form next week- which would be the 4th successive surface low to form in October.
The coming period looks better for the South West, though onshore winds will kick back in later week.
