Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Thu 6th Nov)

Best Days: Every day over the coming period

This Friday through next week (Nov 7 - 14)

Fun waves have been seen across most spots the last few days with light winds and good pulses of S/SW groundswell,

A larger pulse of S/SW groundswell due this afternoon and tomorrow morning is looking really nice, with the weather system generating it coming in a touch stronger than forecast last Thursday to the south-west of WA.

This swell should arrive later today pulsing to 6ft+ across exposed breaks with the odd 8ft'er likely on dark before easing from 6ft to occasionally 8ft early tomorrow morning around Bali.

A steady drop in size should continue through Saturday, bottoming out into the evening.

Our next pulse of large S/SW groundswell won't be far away, as an intense but relatively small mid-latitude low currently pushing north-east towards WA generated a fetch of SW gales within out swell window.

A good and fairly consistent S/SW swell will be generated for Sunday and Monday, reaching 6ft to nearly 8ft at exposed breaks later Sunday and early Monday.

From here the swell will slowly tail away into Monday afternoon, down further Tuesday and bottom out Wednesday morning.

Into the second half of the week, two additional but modereate sized pulses of groundswell are due, the first Wednesday afternoon being really inconsistent and from the S/SW, while the second will be more consistent and from a better SW direction.

This will be due to the first swell being generated south-west of WA in our far swell window, while the second swell will be produced closer to Indonesia, further west and north into the Indian Ocean.

Friday's swell will probably be biggest by a touch, but in saying this, exposed spots are likely to come in at 4-6ft respectively during both events.

Looking at the winds expected over the coming period, and light variable breezes from the E/SE are due for the most part, with a slight freshening of the trades later Sunday through Tuesday before backing off again mid next week.

Longer term there's nothing to really get excited about so make the most of what's coming this period.
