From 'Stern to Starboard
Shipstern's might get all the limelight down Tassie way but when the big sou-west swells enter Storm Bay there are plenty of other waves to ride. Some of them much closer to town and easier to access for the hardcore year-round crew.
Such a swell hit recently, and while Marti and the lads pulled into 15' caverns before a gallery of cameras another crew pulled into perfect 5' pits for one lone photog - Daryl Boggs. Daryl's out of the water following another ear operation (the fourth in ten years!) so this is as close to the session as he could get and still stay dry. Gotta love the commitment.
For those that are wondering: Anna Seabrook is the smiling lass sporting the claret and lump. I've been told that her husband Scotty will be devoed if we run the shot - he's never had a photo on a surf site. That sound you can hear is Scotty headbutting his board.
All photos by Daryl (who we're wishing a speedy recovery).
