Finally, the day we'd all been waiting for! Although it got off to an inauspicious start with slow, high tide waves and correspondingly slow heats. The days competition started with an upset as Fanning fell to Dusty Payne and then it coasted through a few heats until Matt Wilkinson hit the water and almost pulled the move of the comp. Wilkinson went within a bees of pulling a huge Rodeo Flip and the manouvre kickstarted the action: Slater was at his devastating best, Jordy threw buckets, Simpo went New School, and Parko did some of silkiest weight changes through bottomless sandbar pits. Get The Outsider's take on the day here.
