The Perth beachbreaks are often pilloried for their lack of size and shape. "Gutless weak closeouts" is the usual refrain, yet I dare anyone to say they wouldn't trade places with Mike Washer in the first sequence of this gallery.

And after taking in that gorgrous spectacle take a scroll down the page; Mike's barrel clearly wasn't an anomaly. There's Adrian Gianatti, Adam Morrison, Ben Fitzpatrick, and Wooly MacPherson all getting gloriously slotted on a day that, for sheer aesthetic perfection, would rank highly on any coastline in the world.
