After some very last minute phone calls and flights I boarded the mighty Pelagic late at night in Padang harbour. On board were some boys from back home and after greetings we were into the crossing - en route to the Mentawais.

On day one we were greeted by solid 6 - 8 foot peaks. It was the first day of the swell and we managed to have a run of four days with perfect setups.

With all eyes on Kandui or Uluwatu it was good to have a break from the reality of what was a very hyped up but perfect swell. No internet was a god send.

It was a surreal trip, I saw the ocean do things I didn't know the ocean was capable of doing.
