Well that's that. Trestles is done and Taj is the winner, Julian placing second. Last time Taj stood on the dais here it was following a dramatic last-minute loss to Old Baldy (made more dramatic by the fact the organisers made it a 40-minute final, if it were the regular 35 minute this'd be Taj's second win).

Anyhoo, the last of the 'Big 3', Mick Fanning, went down to The Log in Round 5 and from there on it was anyone's comp. Taj took out the local fave, Patty G, in the quarters and then rattled Jordy in the semis with priority pressure. He carried that confidence into the final and picked up a bit of luck along the way. Jules tried to replicate his Day 3 air game in every heat but it was loooking a bit repetitious by the final.

Taj now moves into fourth place and within reasonable strike range of the frontrunners. Jules is solidly entrenched in the Top 10, sitting in 7th.
