The Gold Coast has more surf photographers per capita than any stretch of coastline in the world (source: Nettle, How to Cook a Pork Pie, 2010), so to all of you who complain about our Goldy coverage, there's your reason. 

It also helps that it's more consistent than anywhere else in Australia (fact!), and that the number of good surfers is second only to Cronulla (represent!)
