This could become a new department: Injured surfers taking shit hot surf photos.

Last week I ran a Swellnet Session of a rare Tasmanian pointbreak as photographed by Stuart Dillon. Stuart was land-bound with an injury and unable to surf so he unpacked the camera and happily snapped away.

Well, this week Elliot Gray has upped the ante. Ol' Elliot is out of the water for five months with a knee reconstruction. Like Stuart, a rare wave turned on nearby but rather than wallow in despair and pity he grabbed a camera and dived right in. When I spoke to him he was pumped about the shots he got, as you can see he jagged a couple of great hook ups as the wave reeled down the line.

And get this, not only are these Elliot's first surfing photos, they're the first photos he's taken of anything. Fella done alright for a beginner...
