On behalf of all East Coast surfers I'd like to extend an apology to the rest of Australia for ignoring you these past few weeks.

You see, it's been pumping over here and...well, you know how self-involved us big city surfers are. Yes, I'm aware that Vicco has had the odd wave break on its shores during the same timeframe. Tassie too. Hell, even the West Oz metro beaches, where these shots by Mike Maxted were taken, has had good waves! But you'd hardly know it by looking at Swellnet.

So consider this an apology and a return to order before the next East Coast Low delivers its photographic fallout.//STUART NETTLE
