After a surfing life lived on his knees - bearing the brunt of condescension and outright hostility from the alpha-male stand-ups - Steen Barnes harbours no grudges. When it comes time to photograph the waves he pays no heed to who's riding what and how they do it.

Far be it from to suggest that only photographing kneelos would see him doing...well, not much photography at all. So I'll keep that thought to myself and suggest that, in shooting all comers, Steen is a virtuous and honourable surfer.
