Hi Guys,

When are all the Victorian webcams expected to be operating again? I can only get a picture from the Portsea cam.

We've got replacement surfcams for all locations slated to be installed next week. Including a new surfcam in Torquay!

OK - the replacement Vicco surfcams (including a brand new location!) have been configured and are enroute to Victoria. They'll be installed early next week.

Two of the new Victorian surfcams have been installed (Flinders, Portsea). The two remaining surfcams (Lorne, 13th Beach) will be re-installed next week - plus a brand new surfcam at Torquay!

Flinders has several reef breaks.

All bar one have very defined (small) peaks meaning with only a hand full of surfers out in the water your surf will be crowded. The last (a left) has a larger take off zone.

Rarely do any of these breaks fire to anything like a high standard - they don't compare to breaks elsewhere on the Mornington Peninsula or elsewhere in Victoria. On days when they do fire expect 2 or 3 times as many people than normal in the water and most will have the place wired.

Its sharky.

Its a developers gold mine with shops and apartments aplenty in the main street with more planned. It has 4 coffee shops, a real estate office and several art galleries.

Since Eastlink the place is crowded on most days with surfers and /or oldies driving 20 kms below the speed limit "out for a drive". Then there are the mums in their soft roaders. Expect more traffic when the Eastlink extension is finished next year.

Not sure why Swellnet needs a cam there, anyway, if the surf is crap you can always buy a $4.80 take away coffee for the trip home.

Had a few hiccups with the last three Vic locations - but Lorne went in today, and it's looking great. 13th Beach is being upgraded Tuesday and Torquay will be installed Monday or Wednesday.

OK! All of our Victorian surfcams have been upgraded, and we've just launched a brand new cam at Torquay: http://www.swellnet.com.au/surfcams/torquay

Hope y'all enjoy the streaming quality - we're really stoked with the new cams.
