I have only been surfing for aound 10 years mainly on the SA south coast and I would have to say that this summer has been by far the worst summer for surf I have ever experienced with constant onshore winds for what seems like weeks on end. I was just wondering if anybody else from SA would agree with this and whether this has been the same for vicco surfers who generally have SE-SW onshores as well? Also could anyone shed some light on why this has been the case this summer? Global warming.......... (that should get some people talking haha)?
Summer is always hit and miss on the South Coast, usually more miss than hit. As a rule, winds are typically SE around this time of year which doesn't do any favours for the Victor region so I would usually spent more time at Yorkes and the West Coast looking for better waves.
The good news is that Autumn's just around the corner. Just gotta hope that there are banks in place for those northerly windows!
totally agree mouse up until new years day.since then all is well again.been gettin' plenty at waits and day st.
