Should never have started that stupid sht in the first place. There was a time when SUPs were the scourge of the surf... and rightly riddiculed accordingly... now it's clowns on foils, Cnts.

Foil is great. I’m on a wing a lot, mainly into speed and jumping rather than waves. I will definitely get into foil surfing when I have more time.

I looked at the foiling goat boat video - my first thought was ‘what a waste of a fun looking wave’.

Maybe useful for getting through the flat sections…?

I stayed with 3 friends , right on Cooly Beach , a month ago .

Watching the Foilers , was one of the great highlights .

We went down and had a chat with one guy doing the 2km? walk back up the beach ( and into the wind ) with the foil on his shoulder .

He liked his Non powered foil ( they look a bit scary close up ) and said he would just get ( most days ) two Very long ( looks so much FUN ) rides and go home .

edit
The 2km is as the Crow Flies .

A Foiler , like me , goes ALL over the place , often , round in circles .

One one 1km wave , they go , it seems , 19 miles .

We could see he loved it ( was a surfer before ) .

As I am having trouble Popping Up on a surfboard , THIS sport , looks too hard for me atm .

Waiting for Mal Foils or Tow In Foiling for Old Blokes .

Beautiful smooth cutback on the standing foiler.

On the goat boat I wondered if something about the underwater wing wasn't right - on the wave it seemed to lift him up and then deposit him down, repeatedly. At higher speeds towed behind the boat it seemed fine, as if it got up to an efficient constant speed. Could he have done with a bigger wing, or a slightly more flat angle on his wing? What do you reckon Flollo.

Posted the vid just to wtf people, but geniunely interested on what is going on with the goat foil.

Oh just saw VJ, yeah not reacting at all as you'd want that goatboat!

Foil must be wrong? Lifts with speed but then drops right down and nearly pearls. Dangerous.

With enough speed it could be a submersible goat boat foil... soon everyone will be doing it!

Could it be that the foil is right in the tail behind the seated rider's centre of weight and thus he has to constantly lean back to stop it from pearling, and when his weight does go a bit more neutral with changes in the wave face, it just pitches him down? Put foil further forward beneath the rider to solve?
