I think WSL/ Slater might need to check their patents are in order...

Wow.

At first glance it doesn't look like a KSWC installation. I can't recall any public announcement either (and, they've been announcing new locations well before they get to test mode).

China became a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty in 1994 (there are 151 signatory countries) but I don't know how this is enforced.

But considering the lengths that the WSL went to in Australia to have "Kellogg's Nutri-Grain World Surf League" trademark removed (due to non-use - we detailed this in The ASP: It's on but who's watching? - Part 3), I'd be surprised if they hadn't anticipated and prepared for just such a scenario.

But, wowzers nonetheless.

Fake photo maybe? If they are copying slaters design and using a train and foil to produce a wave then I’m not sure how the wave in the pic gets generated. It looks like it is too far away from anything pushing enough water

'sanded' may have uncovered a top secret Chinese Olympic training Wave Pool
China reckons that with Oz Surf Coach they have a shot at a Olympic medals.
Surfing Medal would buy enormous influence...Tourism/Resorts/Theme Parks

https://surfingworld.com.au/cool-runnings/

PT former contest director for Silver Dragon River Bore Shootouts.
PT now trains Chinese Team in Wave Pools as does U.S. (Both hit WaveGarden)
https://stabmag.com/news/the-olympic-surf-team-pool-party-at-the-cove/

2007 no doubt earlier... Chinese have been building Waveparks (World leaders)
(Theme/Resort/Municipal) Largest Wavepools or wrapping Islands - you choose.

Here's a Made in China wave pool company with their WaveParks
https://daxinwaterpark.en.made-in-china.com/product/WvkmdNPArFVp/China-B...

They do have Global Wave Pool Designers for Resorts(Everything is Made in China)

Sun Island is a Resort Wave Pool with unusual Island rebound waves.(cue 0:45)

The Cube all remember from Olympics also has a wave machine + Band Stage.
These waves or swells bend & rebound at random height & speed.

This is a thing in China. Get a selfie while blindly pounded by a wave of sea critters.

(For Kids?) On Goldie we're repeatedly told that Chinese don't like waves.
Yet our surf is full of Chinese Tourists & many venture out the back.
I can vouch for two Chinese lads that line up in Heavy Burleigh Bodybash'n.

PT's Olympic Team often train in Pools! Perhaps tweaking dials to beef them up.
Modern wave pools have 10 settings for (Left & Right)Larger Wall huggerz.
Just that small default suits park users.

All signs pointed to Olympic Wave Pool Training facility re: Iconic Cube Swim Arena
The timing seems to coincide with Olympic Surfing?
Chinese could easily stop, rip it up & start again half way thru...We'd all expect that!
Also non doubt that Chinese would crowd out that Wavepool in a heartbeat!

Chinese seem most likely to build any WavePark you can dream up!

It's actually pretty crazy, we often think of place like Bali, Jakarta, KL etc only having these big water parks, but my wife family lives in Solo central Java and there is a water park there that is huge has the most crazy water slides, awesome ones better than most in oz, has a wave pool too. but just a shitty, like True blue bashers last link
https://pandawa-lima.com/#welcome

I expect there is plenty in city around SE Asia.

Just so much money in SE Asia the poor are as poor as can be and most people struggle but the rich, fuck they are just crazy they size of their house etc, are like hotels.

I could imagine going back one day and there being a Kelly slater type pool thats been built for no reason other than some rich guy saw it online and thought it would be cool to add to his water park and there is just kids going straight on boggie boards

Part of their Olympic efforts I suppose. Don't like the WSL's chances of collecting on the patent but they probably don't care if it generates a market in China.

[ WARNING - MADE IN CHINA ]
0:00 - :04 (Left)Terrorist careers into Secret Wave Lab @1000 miles an hour. WTF
Gumby slides up the Wave zone trailing a 90* wash?
About as real as yer gonna get from outta China.

Check out the Black Marine Debris(Dugong?)...almost fouls the Wave Train. (STOP!)

Maybe 'Contour rice sacks' swelled forcing a lining rupture now they're surfacing.
Just like Wavegarden/Snowdonia/Ranch/NLand/Waco/Surflakes..Drain the Swamp!

Qld is birth place of Whiteshoe Flibiniterz. We welcome China to the Wild West.
You'll be needing a few truck loadz of surf product to top up your Pool Party.
Zoom in on the left bank you can see Surf Lakes investors fisting... 'I told you so!'
Pool Party was a fizzer as it was geared down to salvage distant Olympic Dream.

By next week Jellies from the Black Wave Lagoon will derail PT's Wave Train...
Best to cash The Party Cheque this week...convince the Leader they're 'surf mats'.

Think I'm making it up? Note all Chinese Photo's/Vidz here have been confiscated.
