ENZED in March-April wetsuit requirements
Depends which coastlines you end up surfing. Seeing you're just based on the North Island, I reckon a 3/2 could be sufficient for the most part as we're coming off the back of the warmest time of the year (especially if it's a good quality, recent model 3/2). Though I'm sure someone else will have more indepth knowledge.
3/2 should be fine
West coast is pretty much boardies at the moment
Temp won't plummet till late May probs
Take both! I remember my first surf down Taranaki way, it was around ANZAC day, raining and cold but great waves. Came in, the clouds parted and there was Mt Taranaki with bloody snow on it! Water was ok but wind - brrrrrrr ...
You'll be fine in a 3/2 or less from Taranaki and north around to the east cape. South east coast pack your 4/3.
Hey brains trust,
I'm heading to NZ with the fambly in the crossover between March & April. We'll be based in Auckland for the first week, then 10 days wandering around the North Island in a campervan. Just wondering if anyone could advise me on wetsuit requirements for that locale at that time of year? I have two steamers - a 3:2 for summer (cold water surfer generally) and a 4:3 for winter. Which would be better to bring for the Aotearoan autumn?
