hi guys im a51yr old grommet and realise every time i go for a surf there is a wealth of knowledge amongst the locals but out in the water is not a very oppertune moment to ask as i keep a respectful distance being not sure of the "etiquette" of surfing so just stay wide and tend to go for waves others dont. What i would like to know most (as i live in St Kilda and its a long drive} is what wind direction do i look for(on swellnet)for Flinders,Pt Leo and Gunnamatta to be ok for a beginner.

North easterlies are optimal for Flinders through Portsea. North westerlies to light westerlies for anything inside the western shore of W Bay.
