Do love them but god it's hard getting out of my warm bed at 5:50am when it's 4 degrees outside.

Well worth the effort though ;)

Try getting out of bed at 4:15am Craig, when it's not much warmer up here (7 deg this morning).

has been WELL worth it lately, great waves, smaller crowds, makes you appreciate spring temperature when they come abck.

up before dawn: cold, dark.
fuel up: toast, coffee
rug up.
creep outta home, don't wake the wife and kids
check it in the predawn gloom. geez, not too bad!
amp. rubber up.
out there!
solo
sun's coming up, plenty of waves, few sneaky tubes
time to think
or to not think...
good one in, skip over the rocks
up the track, stop to watch one more set
back through the bush, sun's a bit warmer now.
change, meander home: no hurry
wonder why everyone else slept in?

5 degrees, 20 knot plus wind, driving rain and 1 very protected bay with empty waves each dawn this week .... it doesn't get better than this.

I'll be there tomorrow... And most mornings next week - Gotta make the most of school holidays - Less traffic means I can stay in the water longer and still make it to work on time...
Can't wait....
