Big call but Craig at The Surfboard Guide just called the Nick Blair Cabsav the best groveller in the world. Views?
I am by no means the expert but I have ridden a few different small wave boards in my 30 years of surfing. I’m an ageing intermediate-good surfer, 85kgs, and 5’10 tall. The best of my grovellers have been the puddle jumper, the Cabsav and an old favourite my CI average joe. I would say the Cabsav comes out on top. It is the best small wave board I have ever had and has doubled my wave count. Great in both choppy and clean waves and skims over flat sections with ease. I prefer to ride as a quad. It makes me enjoy super small sessions that would usually only be rideable on a longboard.
I can’t go past little flat rockers Twinnie with glasses on keels. Tough to get off once you start grovelling on those
