Hey Steve, I just have a query with respect to your forecast uploaded this evening for SE Qld.

You mention the following with respect to current conditions "Far out in the South Pacific near Tahitian longitudes a strong high pressure cell exhibits a long broad fetch of mostly strong winds to low end gales as a deepening trough/low tightens the pressure gradient. That will send a long range E swell our way."

You then go on further to say "The leading edge of longer range E swell from our Tahitian source may show late in the day (Saturday) but it'll be hard to distinguish the signal in the general "noise". By Sunday this long range swell should be well established with 3ft plus sets and NE winds."

That's a damn impressive travel time (say 80 hrs) for the swell to travel some 6000-6500km??
