Being a little young to witness the 74' swell from the NE I have always been interested by when was the best day ever since surfing has taken place. After half a dozen so events July 2001 was the leader by far.Suddenly July 2001 swell doesn't look that flash as June 2016 takes the cake.I'm referring to big NE swells that have offshore westerly winds in NSW.

There have been many large NE swells but few are perfectly groomed here in NSW.In contrast there are many occasions of S swell events with westerly winds. The best one to measure against is the July 2011 swell.Stoked to be around and have been able to witness a better swell than July 2001 and now I am wondering when July 2011 will be surpassed.

It's July 2011 for me,mainly because it lasted the best part of 2 weeks.
