So what's the thoughts on the deep trough of low pressure forming in the Tasman next week. I have a vested interest in this one if it comes off early-mid next week!!!

Im interested in how this low progresses as well because I will be in Coffs Harbour for a week(13-20th August). Are there spots that handle big swell around there? Im prepared to sniff around so I dont expect names of secret spots but just a general idea! Can anyone help??

Funny about that. I was looking at the forecast charts a few days ago and thought 'here we go', a serious ECL developing very close to the coast off northern NSW early next week.

But it seems to have disappeared from the charts that I'm looking at now.

Any other models still rating it a possibility?

Goneski....well at least for early-mid next week. Now hinting at something possibly over near NZ mid-late next week, but that's too late for what I'm doing early-mid next week.

All I can hope for now is the current Tasman low stalls off the west coast of NZ this weekend a little more than currently forecast.
