Recap

A drop in size yesterday but still fun across the South West with clean morning conditions and surf to 4ft, tiny and to 1-1.5ft across Perth and Mandurah for the keen.

This morning Perth and Mandurah were a little slower but similar in size with smaller, lumpier waves in the South West.

This weekend and next week (Feb 3 - 9)

Looking at the weekend ahead, we've got a lift in mid-period SW swell due across all coasts tomorrow, maintaining tiny 1-1.5ft sets for the keen across the metro locations and providing a little more energy in the South West to 4-5ft+ in the morning, easing through the day.

Winds will be fresher tomorrow and out of the S/SE-S across the South West, S'ly to the north and strengthening across all coasts through the day from the S/SW. Not ideal at all.

These winds will kick up some local windswell for Sunday morning but winds will only tend back to the S/SE and remain gusty, creating poor conditions.

Weaker S/SE winds are due into Monday but the swell will be small, weak and easing, cleaner Tuesday with E/SE winds but fading 3ft sets max on the South West magnets.

A small pulse of mid-period SW swell for Thursday afternoon and Friday morning looks flukey at best. The source with be the remnants of a tropical system drifting south-east through our swell window. The small nature of the low and track looks to only produce a small pulse of energy maybe to 3-4ft in the South West Thursday afternoon with sea breezes, smaller and easing Friday but clean.

Longer term a slightly better swell generator may be seen for next Sunday/Monday but we'll have a closer look at this on Monday. Have a great weekend!
