No great change to the weekend outlook, with a strong high (1030hPa) moving offshore from the south coast of NSW and a coastal low forming off the North Coast of NSW. We’ll see a N’ly flow develop off the high tomorrow with freshening N-NW winds and some small NE windswell developing in the a’noon to 2ft.
Very dynamic weekend f/cast. Strong high pressure (1030hpa) moving off the Southern NSW Coast with a trough and embedded coastal low currently forming off the Far North Coast and expected to deepen into tomorrow before dissipating Sun and lingering in the Tasman early next week as a trough.
The situation becomes dynamic again next week. The trough is expected to stall in the central Tasman with a new strong front pushing NE into the Tasman and becoming incorporated into the trough system. The system then looks to stall and intensify near the South Island, possibly even retrograding mid next week.
The weekend looks small but fun with decent surf mid-late next week.
The coming period will be mixed both swell and wind wise with small windows for all regions.

After a great run for sheltered spots, this outlook sees the exposed beaches offering a few windows.

As a low sits off the SEQLD Coast over the weekend we’ll see a small signal of E/SE swell develop Sun at exposed spots north the Breaksea spit.
