We’ve got an active phase of the Long Wave Trough on approach. Unfortunately, it’s expected to peak too far to the west, which will steer Southern Ocean swell generating systems away from our southern swell window.

A couple of small westerly swells to capitalise on over the coming period with favourable winds.

Slow surf tomorrow, with a much stronger and larger W/SW groundswell from Sunday through next week.

Also worth keeping an eye out for from Friday onwards: a small subtropical low developed north of New Zealand today, performing much better than Monday’s model guidance indicated.
