The run of great waves is coming to and end, with improving surf into later next week.
A small trough of low pressure in the Coral Sea is moving north and the broad fetch aimed at CQ will maintain coverage in the Coral Sea so expect plenty of fun surf over the weekend.
This looks to set-up as the clearing trough Mon sets up a long N-S oriented line in the Tasman to Coral Seas and focusses a long E’ly tending E/NE fetch through this vast area focussing nicely into the NETas swell window around a small low at the end of the trough.
Make the most of today's westerly swell in the gulf and target selected spots across the South Coast over the coming days.
The “trough block” pattern mentioned on Wed looks to set-up as the clearing trough Mon sets up a long N-S oriented line in the Tasman to Coral Seas and focusses a long E’ly fetch through this vast area. Windspeeds are the limiting factor but we should see a steady increase in E'ly swell from Thurs into next weekend.
