High pressure in the Tasman is holding a weak ridge in the Coral Sea, with E’ly winds focussed SW of New Caledonia generating some small fun waves.
The coming period remains active but with fluctuating winds and conditions.
High pressure is in the Tasman in typical spring position- with a N’ly-NW’ly flow being enhanced as a mid-latitude low approaches from well south of the Bight. An inland trough and a front associated with the low move across the SE of the country and into the Tasman later Tues, with following fronts and a trough into the Tasman Wed.
The South West will mostly be a write-off for the coming days, improving into the weekend and early next week.

The coming week will favour the South Coast wind wise, with one window across the Mid.
Swell generating winds are poorly aligned and with the weakening system racing through the swell window we’re only expecting a small payload of S swell from this progression.
We've got building levels of swell initially from the west, then more south-west from Sunday though with tricky winds.
The coming fortnight looks very active with tons of swell inbound.
