The South West will mostly be a write-off for the coming days, improving into the weekend and early next week.

High pressure is in the Tasman in typical spring position- with a N’ly flow being enhanced as a mid-latitude low approaches from well south of the Bight.
The coming week will favour the South Coast wind wise, with one window across the Mid.
Swell generating winds are poorly aligned and with the weakening system racing through the swell window we’re only expecting a small payload of S swell from this progression.
We've got building levels of swell initially from the west, then more south-west from Sunday though with tricky winds.
The coming fortnight looks very active with tons of swell inbound.
Large, developing stormy weekend again, with plenty more for next week. Improving conditions next weekend.
These winds aren’t strong but they do look persistent into and through next week. As a result we should see rideable surf develop later Mon into Tues and hang around through until Thurs/Fri.
High pressure moves into the Tasman Sun and winds get a more NW tilt as a front approaches from the W.
We'll enter a very un-spring like period into next week following great waves tomorrow.
