Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Mon July 22nd)
This week and next week (July22-Aug 2)
Central QLD: Small, rideable surf from mid week
Nothing over the weekend and into today.
Following that we’ve got a spring like week ahead with fresh/strong NW winds and only some minor NE windswell wrap to offer up some rideable waves.
Following that we’ve got a spring like week ahead with only some minor E trade-swell to offer up some rideable waves.
Plenty of good surf days ahead for the South Coast, biggest today and tomorrow.

Today and tomorrow are the biggest and best for the period across the Surf Coast.
I’m still skeptical that we’ll see much value next week.
An approaching cold front is due to cross the gulf around 9pm this evening, bringing gale force W/SW winds to all regions.
I remain unconvinced as to the weekend’s surf potential, relative to the vigorous storm track pushing through the Bight.
