There ain't much happening this weekend in the surf department.
We’ve got an active phase of the Long Wave Trough on approach. Unfortunately, it’s expected to peak too far to the west, which will steer Southern Ocean swell generating systems away from our southern swell window.
Small fading north-east swell tomorrow, hardly anything thereafter.
A couple of small westerly swells to capitalise on over the coming period with favourable winds.
XL swell for tomorrow, easing through Sunday with large onshore waves developing again through next week.
Slow surf tomorrow, with a much stronger and larger W/SW groundswell from Sunday through next week.
Slow tomorrow with a stronger mix of westerly swells filling in on Sunday, easing back slowly through next week.
Also worth keeping an eye out for from Friday onwards: a small subtropical low developed north of New Zealand today, performing much better than Monday’s model guidance indicated.
The final low/front this current series pushed through eastern Bass Strait this morning. It’s still not in an ideal region for swell generation but it will maintain small southerly swells through the next few days.
