Watch: Josh Burke // Soup Bowl
Though it's barely a bend in the coast - fly over it on a flat day and you wouldn't know it was there - Soup Bowl at six feet is arguably the best wave in the Caribbean.
Here, Josh Burke extracts max tube time as the 'bowl gets nasty.

Not the sort of wave you’d like to take on after a sesh with the Caribbeans finest herbs ….

I recall Slater mentioning that Soup Bowls is one of is favourite waves in the world. Looks like alot of fun if you can make the drop.
It is a fun wave, and heavy from start to finish.
Is that Barbados?
Anyone been? What’s it like as a surf/ holiday destination?
Pros & cons?
I've surfed several islands in the Caribbean GF, Barbados like the others is expensive, but the good food, good vibes, warm water and fun waves make up for it. I hit both side of Barbados, SB is pretty good and powerful. I surfed a couple of the mainland Countires fronting the Caribbean sea as well, and one also has powerful and surprisingly large waves. Fickle waves all round though, and seasonal.
Just like this vid, most footage of SB is a light onshore. Think winds can be a problem.
Imperfect that’s for sure. Second half of the wave looks like a fair lottery.
Watched a bit of the cam footage a couple of nights ago when it was proper solid 6-8foot. Looks like it stands up on itself and slabs out on that super shallow flat ledge on the first section and then its a house of horrors after that to what you might get. Only saw a couple of guys picking off the smaller ones. Posted a link on the insta thread from Parker Coffin's page of him smashing his eye up the other day there after headbutting the reef. Sketchy stuff. Looks fun 6ft and under.
