Southern Tasmania Forecast (issued Friday 8th November)

Best Days: Sunday morning, Monday, Tuesday morning away from Clifton

Recap

Onshore winds kicked in yesterday with a small 2ft of swell. Today the onshore is stronger and the swell smaller back to a junky 1ft.

This weekend (Nov 9-10)

Give the surf a miss tomorrow as winds will remain onshore with a small junky swell. An early W'ly breeze on Sunday should create much cleaner conditions but a new swell (generated by a polar front shown right) expected for the afternoon probably won't be too big around dawn.

Next week (Nov 11-13)

Sunday's late increase in SW swell will peak Monday and winds will most likely be variable, if not just lingering from the south. This swell will probably come in a touch above the model guidance to 2-3ft later Sunday and a more solid 3ft Monday morning.

NE winds on Tuesday will favour selected breaks across the South Arm but create choppy waves at Clifton, while Wednesday looks poor with fresh onshore E/SE winds.

Longer Term (Nov 14 onwards)

Some small junky E/SE swell is due Thursday but then heading into the following weekend there's nothing significant expect for tiny levels of W/SW swell.
