South Australian Forecast (issued Friday 8th November)

Best Days: No good days

Recap

Terrible surf down South with a fresh to strong onshore wind, while a tiny W/SW swell pulsed to 1-1.5ft with the incoming tide yesterday. This morning a larger stormy S'ly swell is breaking across the South Coast with strong onshore winds, while the Mid was back to 1ft with average conditions under the S'ly.

This weekend (Nov 9-10)

Give the surf and coast a big miss this weekend as there's no quality surf expected anywhere. Fresh to strong onshore winds and a junky mix of swells will persist across the South Coast as a high pressure system stalling in the Bight directs S/SE winds across the region.

The Mid Coast will become effectively flat with beginners even struggling to get a surf in.

Next week (Nov 11-13)

Conditions will deteriorate further into next week as the ridge strengthens aiming stronger S/SE winds into the South Coast. This will see bigger levels of S/SE windswell developing, persisting through Tuesday before easing through Wednesday as the ridge starts to break down.

Longer Term (Nov 14 onwards)

A new long-range W/SW groundswell is due next Thursday across the coast generated in our far swell window (pictured right). The storm creating this swell will weaken well west of WA and as a result only a small and inconsistent W/SW groundswell is expected. Winds should improve though, easing from the S/SE Thursday and swinging offshore from the NW Friday ahead of a strong change. We'll look at this again on Monday.
