Margaret River in winter?

Some advice please.

Ms IB and I are trying to plan a winter trip. Top of the wishlist is to make it back to Europe to see family and friends, but it's ridiculously expensive and hard to get flights at the right time.

Another idea is to do a combine WA/Indo trip. I know that it's the stormiest time to go, and possibly too big and onshore, but how awful? It wouldn't be a full on surftrip, but there'd hopefully be some. Would probably go in July.

Keen to hear from those in the know.

There's a reason half of the down south locals head to the North West in winter.

Spot on. There's usually spots you can go to get out of the wind but the quality is not worth travelling across the country for + the few spots working will be absolutely packed
