South Australian Forecast (issued Friday 29th November)

Best Days: Saturday morning, Sunday at exposed spots, Tuesday morning, possibly early Wednesday

Recap

Tiny onshore waves were seen across the South Coast yesterday morning ahead of a building trend into the afternoon, while the Mid Coast saw tiny clean 1ft sets early.

Today the windswell on the South Coast is a larger 3ft but with fresh to strong onshore winds, and the Mid is a tiny 0.5ft with the rare 1ft 'bomb' on the beachies.

This weekend (Nov 30 - Dec 1)

The weekend is looking average with today's S/SE windswell on the South Coast expected to drop out rapidly during the day under fresh E/NE winds. Hit up Goolwa or Parsons for the best of it.

Come Sunday winds will be straighter offshore from the N/NE but there'll be little to no swell with super exposed beaches the go for the odd set wave.

Next week (Dec 2 onwards)

Monday will remain tiny but a new SW groundswell should fill in Tuesday and peak through the afternoon. This will be generated by a distant polar front (pictured right), and hence the swell will be really inconsistent and not have too much size to it.

Light variable winds during the morning should provide fun waves across the South Coast.

A secondary pulse of W/SW swell is due Wednesday from a mid-latitude front moving under the country but behind this a stronger cold outbreak is expected into Thursday this may produce a large stormy increase in SW swell but we'll look at this again on Monday.
