Yeah, a bloke is tuning a girl all night, allegedly on the gear and drinking along with buying her drinks.
Offers to drive her home, but then decides he has work to do in the early hours. He then leaves the girl he was going to take home naked on a couch... Sure she stripped off by herself to get a good night sleep ey.
This same individual is facing a similar case in Toowoomba.
Mmmmm nothing to see here folks.
If he had used the defence that sex did occur and was consensual, then she regretted he may have had a case.
Anyway, in my view it looks like Lehrman is getting what he deserves. Bloke should have left it where it was after criminal trial and cut his losses.
Now who funded Lehrman? That is where it gets interesting in my view.

Also, recent hyperbolic reports of him partying and being evicted with many young ladies pictured begs the question, ‘what is wrong with these ladies?

the thing is andy mac, I generally see it exactly the same as you...

however, how the hell can anyone know what actually happened that night after all that 'coaching' and the like by lisa wilkinson?

she tarnished (soiled) any semblance of reality, evidence, and version of what actually happened that night to such an extent that the case was doomed from the start...

and all that was before her speach of gratuitious self importamce at the logies...

then hankey head husband pooh smeared the whole ordeal as well

the delusional self importance of those two is staggering, and destructive...

and not just in this case!

I hope they get what they deserve too

False equivalence claptrap
Edit what woman would put herself through the ordeal to the point of being suicidal? Seriously?

What woman looking at this trial and how only one side needed to reveal every tiny detail of their life while the other didn’t think seriously about not proceeding with a complaint?

Very disingenuous sippy

you can see through all wilkinson's leading questions and coaching and know what actually happened that evening?

I'll rephrase that... you're happy to totally ignore all wilkinson's leading questions, coaching, and fabricating to fulfill your political agenda?

Haha, I missed this one. Yarra is full of bikes and other rubbish. Melbourne - by far the dirtiest city in Australia. When I tell this to people they respond with something like 'It's a character of Melbourne, it's cool...'. Bullshit. I went to Brunswick once and I'll never go again. The place is a dump. All those inner city 'progressives' should start by cleaning their backyard. But then again, many prefer to look dirty, and wear awful clothes (is this some new fashion?), maybe they truly believe that a dirty, messy city is better than a clean one.

That may be the case re Wilkinson etc but as the judge ruled, balance of probabilities he raped her..
Bloke takes girl back after night out, she somehow ends up naked crashed out on couch as he does some work, then leaves her. If he is innocent of rape, which I don't reckon he is, he is a grub of the first order.
He is lucky the criminal trial was aborted due to jury misconduct, and that incident was as suss as fark.
Again whole thing stinks through and through, but reckon he is guilty as the judge determined.

Here's an unpopular opinion on the whole lehrmann/higgins saga - I trust our judicial system. The judge decided that he couldn't rule out the possibility of rape considering the presented evidence. And that's it. Why is this controversial?

""it was political right from the start...""

It was bound to be since it occured in a ministers office between 2 lnp staffers.

Again why was office ordered to be thoroughly cleaned? Too much suss stuff going on, and doesn't seem to be a political hit job as it was all lnp.
Anyway, let's see how his Toowoomba trial goes, he may end up in jail anyway.

The judge seems as if he had a sense of humour.

As I have already noted, put in stark terms, it is fanciful a somewhat lubricated male staffer accompanied by a woman he found attractive, who he had just been ‘pashing’ in a nightclub despite having a girlfriend, would then be interested, after coming to a private place very late, to just say ‘cheerio’, and then soberly proceed to note up briefs for a Question Time that was not to occur for one and a half weeks, a fortiori when the staffer had already resigned; had no outstanding tasks; was not ordinarily involved in work concerning the Defence portfolio; and hitherto had demonstrated no outward signs of being a workaholic.

So you reckon he took her back after flirting with her all night, drinking and as pointed out pashing her to leave her alone so he could go and do some work. Good work ethic indeed!
She just happens to lie down on couch and strip off for no reason.
He then just leaves her there for security guard to check on her.
Reckon the evidence right from the start points to him being guilty.
Again he is lucky that the juror had the criminal trial cancelled, which kind of reeks of the Joh Bejeilke trial and a suss juror.
Anyway not going to flog a dead horse, but yeah I reckon Brucey was the bad guy in this matter.

They can only appeal the ‘process’, not the evidence, from what I understand. Same as BRS.

They have to prove in the appeal that the judge made errors in application or in procedure.

credit where credlin credit is due...

she's the only politician I ever heard be close to honest about how australia's immigration numbers are determined

she said on a panel... (paraphrasing)

"I've been in that room when the budget numbers are being considered...

...and I have seen those in government pump immigration numbers into their modelling until a more balanced budget is reached..."

I'll take that kind of frank honesty any day of the week over our current crop of liars and their sleight hands...

I wonder how many times labor bumped the immigration numbers by 50 000 or 100 000 before they found their current magical number of 735 000...

all to perpetuate the ruse we are not in recession...

meanwhile... a per capita recession has been runnig how many times...
