Opti must be much happier safe in the fluffy soft mist of belief - free from the thistles of reality and those annoying questions on SN.

Anyone got songs they are obsessed with learning?

Mine is Little wing, Hendrix version, i can play the intro (fingers picked, i dont like picks much), but i kind of had to dumb it down to learn it (no double stops and only half of that weird chord near the end of intro to make it easier, and i play a few little bits slightly wrong, but still flows fine)

That said i made a spotify play list of all the live versions to listen to one after each other in the car alone and he never played it the same as on the album, every version is quite different.

Watched this video below last night, very interesting.

Im inspired to go back over it and try to get it right, then one day tackle the solo.

Fun song to play though and IMHO one of the best sings ever, i still think Hendrix is the best guitarist ever just his style and flow.

This is the vid i learnt from

Indo, many songs, I simply love YouTube for the access to easy tuition. My problem is that I never learn a song from beginning to end, I just poach the bits I want
But after a few beers I can begin to figure out some of the solos, or more accurately the gist of them. Nowadays I find it's more important to learn the rhythm guitar section first, as that's the song, not the solo'ing. Basic I know but I've always been a slow learner.

Good luthier and nice bloke.

If Coops ran it, the stock level would drop dramatically, but it would be highly entertaining.

Learning this one, not all that hard to play in its basic form. forget the solo and dont have to play the chord embellishments around the verse note for note thats the beauty of Hendrix, go listen to live recording and they are never the same, just play what feels and sound's good, sounds good on an acoustic too.

Here you go Indo, Peter Hook and the Light are playing the Forum in May next year (tix on sale tomorrow). 6 string bass a thing that intrigues?

As a fellow Cure enthusiast (RS played a Fender Bass VI), you should buy yourself a Hookey Bass 6 Pro from Eastwood. When Eastwood borrowed and modelled their replica on Hookey's famous bass, he took a replica on tour instead of his cos he loved it so much!
https://eastwoodguitars.com/products/hooky-bass-6-pro?variant=3949750910...

Peter Hook & the Light will be playing both the New Order and Joy Division 'Substance' compilations back to back. Perfect old-feller early-winter 2024 gig..

How cools this thing a vox guitar organ.

I expect you could get pedals for this these days, but sounds exactly like the album.
