howdy all

I've got an big old floaty 6'8" board that I'd like to pass on to my young fella to learn to surf on, & am thinking of cutting about 8-10" or more out of the nose and giving it a nice round longboard like shape.....taking the point out for safety reasons, so he:
a) doesn't spear himself or other kids and
b) making it a manageable length for him to handle and manoeuvre in the whitewater
happy to have a crack at the cutting, glassing etc. myself, anybody got any advice? is it easy enough to do?
should I even bother?
thanks

to make it safe enough only a couple of inches will suffice....just radius the nose area and use one of those multi tools.8-10 inches will seriously change the nose rocker and if hes a learner he will he will probably need the uplift to stop nose diving....an in experience pearling more often than not will lead to the board flipping over and scoring a hit on him

Is that about what the nose is on the Desert Storm ,doing a couple of covers for them at the moment.
