Best Days: Saturday morning protected spots, early Sunday, Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning, Thursday and Friday mornings

Recap

Exposed breaks across the state faired best yesterday with stiff offshore winds and a fun sized swell across Margs and Gero. An increase in size was seen through the day ahead of a peak today but conditions were poor with onshore S/SW winds.

This weekend (Dec 13 - 14)

Today's swell should ease slowly through tomorrow and further Sunday across all coasts with an improvement in conditions tomorrow with S/SE winds across all locations (possibly SE around Perth).

Sunday morning should be similar with SE winds around Perth, but a more variable breeze is due in the South West before a fresh W/SW change pushes in. Therefore the early to mid morning will be the best of it.

Monday onwards (Dec 15 onwards)

Our better and larger increase in SW groundswell is still on track with a polar front currently to our south-west due to be overridden by a stronger system pushing north-east up towards us and then through the Bight.

This should produce a moderate to large sized SW groundswell building later Sunday and further Monday to 6-8ft in the South West late in the day, 2ft in Perth and 3-4ft up at Gero.

A drop in size should then be seen from 6ft to occasionally 8ft, 2ft and 4-5ft respectively Tuesday morning.

Winds will unfortunately be onshore from the W/SW tending S/SW Monday but Tuesday should see better morning offshore SE winds around Perth, variable tending light SE winds around Margs and S/SE up at Gero.

Wednesday will be smaller but winds dicey again and most likely variable early in the South West with SE winds up in Perth and S/SE around Gero.

The end of the week is looking cleaner and better at exposed breaks with winds swinging to the E/SE as a small to moderate SW groundswell fills in Thursday and then eases Friday. More on this on Monday. Have a great weekend!
