Watch: Leroy Bellet // Chasing The Shot
It's a point made by photographer Leroy Bellet in this vid. That being, what's the value of a photo when we can access thousands of them on our phone at any time; scroll past millions of pixels without giving thought to any of them.
The greatest value, perhaps a photos only real worth, is measured by the application of the photographer in capturing it: their vision, their effort, and the risks they're willing to take in the course of the shot.
The latter being especially true in this case.
Leroy Bellet took French photographer Laurent Pujol's 'behind the surfer' shots from the sand-bottom waves of France to the slabs of south-eastern Australia, and then onwards to Tahiti. Red Bull came along to document it and the result is this twenty-minute clip of a young photographer applying himself to his art with wild abandon.
