Surfrider Foundation Australia National Conference 2010

Swellnet Dispatch

The Surfrider Foundation Australia are holding their National Conference this weekend, from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st November.

Under the banner 'We Love Waves', this year's conference is shaping up as a real cracker and is certainly one not to be missed. The weekend combines a blend of events, conference attractions and downtime - giving people the opportunity to socialize, and also experience some of the local attractions and world-class surf breaks.

Some of the speakers already confirmed include Ian Cohen (Greens State MP), Vaughan Blakey (editor of Surfing World) and Ruben Meerman (ABC's Surfing Scientist). Former world surfing champion, Barton Lynch, will also be attending.

Loads of educational and social activities are scheduled for the weekend - which corresponds with the Manly Festival of Surfing. Things kick off with a drinks function at 6pm on Friday 19th November and will conclude with the Surfrider Foundation Annual General Meeting, finishing at 3pm on Sunday.

Registration for the conference is now open! Visit the conference web page for more details.
