Watch: Dorian Wins Twin Fin Div At Opulent Surf Comp

Following on from yesterday's single fin division - watch here if you missed it - today the contestants doubled their fin count, and the obvious favourite was Kelly. After all, if he's not actually riding a twin fin in CT comps (Keramas, Pipe, both boards shaped by Akila Aipa) then he's riding boards that are incredibly loose in the back end - a classic twin fin trait.

Despite what you see in the video - Kelly surfing smooth, the others not so - the champ went down in the Semis, with Dorian eventually beating Ross in the Final.

I'm getting a sense the organisers subscribe to the 'everyone gets a trophy' style of play. Let's see what tomorrow brings in the Thruster division before I make such wild accusations.

Anyway, if you like what you see at the Four Seasons, why not consider a holiday? If you're on a shoestring budget, prices start at $1,500 per person per night, and for those who've just got their tax back, upper end rooms cost $5,500 per person per night - breakfast is free.

I reckon Machado looked the best of the bunch.

With you on that. Machado is much smoother and more precise than the rest. Slater is the 'best' surfer, but he surfs the twinnie like a thruster, not my cup of tea.

Kelly looked better than all of them. Ross Williams looked the worst and he somehow made the final???

Agreed, also agree with what Stu said as far as "what you see in the video - Kelly surfing smooth, the others not so".
If this was 'Rivals', it would be Slater way out in front, followed by Maschado in the final. The others don't seem to get the mission, irrespective of their obvious talents on other equipment

I thought Slater looks so much smoother than Shane in that clip. If people
Can remember him surf a twinnie at the Challenger event at Snapper, he rides them well. Should retire and jump on Toren’s boat
